Takeover of D.C.P.

PTC Group acquires D.C.P. Dutch Cargo Purchase B.V. (DCP) and strengthens its position in the inland shipping sector

Rotterdam, 10 December, PTC Groep, a leading organization in the inland shipping sector, today announces the acquisition of D.C.P. Dutch Cargo Purchase B.V. (DCP). For nearly 35 years, DCP has been a trusted partner in logistics services on European inland waterways. This acquisition comes at a time when DCP, a relatively small player with its own vessels, faced growing challenges to keep pace with market complexity and scale requirements. Moreover, the founder was preparing for retirement, which made finding a strong partner for continuity and future growth essential.

With this acquisition, PTC Group ensures that continuity. Furthermore, the deal fits perfectly into PTC Group’s growth strategy. By joining forces, both companies create a stronger, broader, and more efficient network that meets the needs of shippers, skippers, and logistics partners.

Quotes

“We warmly welcome DCP to the PTC Groep,” says Henri van Sandijk, spokesperson and treasurer of PTC Group. “DCP has built a strong reputation in inland shipping, and their customer focus perfectly aligns with our vision. By combining our networks and DCP’s expertise, we take an important step toward further scaling and professionalization.”

Johan Vennik, CEO of DCP, explains: “Inland shipping is developing rapidly and demands increasing scale, digital knowledge, and operational capacity. For a smaller company like ours, it became increasingly difficult to keep up with that pace. In addition, my retirement is approaching, making this a natural moment to find a future-oriented partner who can continue to serve our customers and partners. PTC Groep provides the right foundation for that.”

Sjoerd Schaafsma, CEO of Brokking Group, adds: “As co-shareholder of DCP, we fully support this step and see a promising future for DCP within PTC Groep.”

Integration and future plans

In the coming period, PTC Groep and DCP will work closely together to ensure a smooth integration of processes, systems, and teams. Customers can continue to rely on the trusted service while benefiting from an expanded network and greater operational capacity.
