After eight months of draining for major maintenance, the Juliana Canal has officially reopened. With pride, our own mv Elja was one of the first ships to use the renewed passage.
The reopening means more than just the resumption of shipping traffic. It represents an important step for the Limburg region, where the canal restores an important logistical link. The Juliana Canal not only provides accessibility, but also offers the stability and reliability that are crucial for a well-functioning logistics chain towards the rest of Europe. For many companies in the region, this is a positive boost that enhances economic dynamism.
During the opening, our board member Henri van Sandijk spoke briefly. He highlighted the impact the closure of the canal had on the PTC Group and its members.
